How many seasons of The Office would I have to rent to get caught up?

I never watched The Office because it looked so stupid but everyone tells me how hilarious it is. I guess the 4th season is starting. How far back would I need to go to get caught up? Would it be worth it?

It is so worth it. You could go back to season 1, but it's a little boreing. Great to go back to after you know and love the show.
Start with the first episode of Season 2. It takes a little time to get used to. You have got to know the characters. It's really worth it. So I would say to go back to season 2.

They've done three seasons prior to the current one, all available on DVD. The first season was only 6 episodes, though, so it's only a little more than two seasons worth.
