How do you rent a car in Cancun without being cheated by PIMSA?

We came from Canada a few weeks ago and had arranged to get a car at the Airport. The company didn't have an office at the Airport when we arrive and were taken into town to an office, 45 minutes lost. When we arrived the Company Office, it was different than the company that we rented from. It was all a lie. Full coverage insurance wasn't included as we were told. Another 35 minutes lost. So we left, went to the resort in a taxi, 30 more minutes lost. And rented a car at the resort that we were staying at half the price. The Company was PIMSA, Pastor International Marketing. We requested our money back and have gotten nothing yet...

Rent one at the airport when you get there. You can negotiate a bit and get he best rate. Make sure you ask about the coverage and the mileage. They sometimes give you the lowest rate but with little or no coverage. Depending on your stay and where you are going try to get some higher coverage. I rented a VW Pointer and it was great, it had AC yes!

Renting online before you go gets you a cheaper rental sometimes. Rent only with known rental providers directly through their websites .

If you do rent at airport make sure you blow by past any timeshare resort salepeople. Dollar , Budget or enterprise cant remember, had one there when I picked up my car , wasted five- ten minutes.
