Do you rent movies more often, being that theater tickets are expensive? |
I know movies cost "something" to see, but come on, these ticket prices are ridiculous these days. By the way, this YAHOO spell-checker is CRAP. It really depends on the film. I personally enjoy going to the movies because it's WAY bigger than any TV screen anyone could ever buy (unless you're really wealthy and could have your own theatre built) and I just love the movie-going experience (minus a few things here and there). I didn't read all that, but I can say that the last movie I saw at the theater was...I can't even remember. I do rent a lot though. i am a member of netflix so i never have to leave my house to watch movies. I totally agree with you. We joined NetFlix, so while we wait for the new movies to come out on dvd...we still have plently of new ones to see. so looks like you answered your own question. To tell ou the truth, with the cost of movie tickets and renting, I just buy the movies previously viewed ofr cheap. If I don't like them, I can sell them back i do the netflix, but i do go and see a movie if its something i really want to see like the next pirate movie or something like that, really disapointed in xman 3 though, wish i would have rented that one. Yeah, theaters are way too expensive, but drive-ins are making a comeback in my area and they are pretty cool. All the people you can put in a car/truck for $8 to $10 and bring your own snacks. yes, in our little town it costs $10 for 2 to go to the theater. For $9 at the local video store you can rent 3 new release movies. it is way too much to go to the theater so i just I rent from Netflix instead of going to the movies. I can wait the few months it takes for them to come out on DVD. I LOVE going to the movies. I'd pay what ever they charge. We always get drinks snacks and popcorn. We sometimes go to two movies in a day if we have baby sitters. Renting movies for me means late fees and trips across town to get them back on time. The kids at Blockbuster are so rude who wants to go in there? We usually see most movies opening day we even saw Superman twice this weekend. I go through about 15-20 movies a month through Netflix and I go to maybe 1 or 2 in the theatre. I hear you though about changing your living room into a theatre. I did that a while back and the only thing that can compete with it now is IMAX. haha If I can't see the movie within two weeks that it comes out I end up either renting it or just taking a chance and buying the dam thing on DVD. I have only been disappointed once so far The Producers with Gene Wilder. Wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I don't see movies when the first come to the theater, I wait until they come to the cheap theater near us ( $1 mon-thurs, $1.50 Fri-sun ) or I just rent them. |
