Sexual harassment at work, what should I do? |
Work for Attorneys. My boss sits in his office, w/ the door cracked & watches porno on his computer. I caught him w/ his finger in his zipper. He masterbates in his office w/ his little package of baby wipes. His office smells like you know what & I have to use his computer & want to gag cuz the garbage is under his desk. Found a naked girl picture on his desk in plain view. He is married but has a girl friend and leaves his girlfriends love letters in plain view on his desk. I come across these pictures/letters when I straighten up his desk. He was turned in to the A. Grievience by the other secretary that worked there. Still being investigated. 2nd Attorney in the office pinched my right breast the other day while I was sweeping the break room, tried to put business cards & his office rent check down my top while I was sitting at my desk. Won't leave me alone & told him stop! Got my haircut & 2nd Att. says ooh your boobs look bigger. Want to quit job but no other job yet. contact another attorney and they will be able to tell you that steps you need to take in order to build a case....evidence and all that. good luck....or......next time smack him upside his head...i think he'll get the idea These men are too stressed out! Get yourself another job. Talk to another attorney maybe a partner in the office, Otherwise call the police or go to the police station and ask what you can do if there is no one in the office to talk to you. Or go to the court house and speak with a judge, if they'll see you, since most judges are familiar with the attorneys. Or just up and quit and file a lawsuit. Sue him..... Keep looking for another job. These guys are creepy. OMG; you need to take pictures of this stuff, and get an attorney. join the other co-worker and be proactive. Men do not get it when women think they are being sexually harrassed. They assume that women like this. I know that sounds crazy but they actually do. Get a tape recorder and record this stuff. These guys think that they are above the law. Get some backbone and quit the job instead of bitching about it. Don't get in to trouble. Leave this job and try hard for another. if you don't have barefor another month. my suggestion is quit. After quitting you can file a case if you have great confidence in you. if not don't do it.you can get lot of jobs... Call another Attorney and ask them what to do, find another job ASAP. as a guy i said report it to hire ups and if that don't work video tape our audio record him and press charges get enough courage to beat them up. Document, document, document! Write down everything that has happened to you, with times and dates and any witnesses. If your firm has an HR person, go to them first, otherwise file a grievance yourself and contact the EEOC for help on dealing with sexual harrassment and a hostile workplace. You've probably got a good case since another secretary has also complained. Go and speak to your Human Resources Department and complain. Take a trusted work colleague with you if necessary. Also surely watching pornography at work must be against company policy. The IT department should be able to examine the files on his computer. Stand up for yourself, gather evidence if you can. Nobody should have to put up with this sort of degrading treatment. Go find another lawyer (from outside your office, preferably female). If you don't have much money, look for those who offer their services for free (pro-bono) and file a lawsuit against your horny attorney-bosses. File a lawsuit. Don't worry about your job, if you have a strong case, you'll win the case and they will have to pay you a lot of money. One time, bring a video/audio recorder with you and discreetly record their advances...it can be admitted as a strong evidence to build up your case. Yeah, find another job, anything, even if it's Starbuck's while looking for a better job. Grab your paycheck and walk out. man what a bunch of assholes i should do what crystal said and give them hell Don't stand for any of this. If your boss is having personal problems with his family, that is his problem. If he has improper items in his office just snap a picture of them with your cell phone. Are there any people working above your boss and the other attorney? If there are, just go to them and report what has been going on. I would stay away from the office until something is done. Call in sick or something. It would be better than sticking around for something worse to happen to you. Good luck! |
