My boss is so shady it angers me. He dodges bill collectors and I have to help. I am so depressed when I think

of all he owes. He promises a great lucrative future for me if I stick with him but I sweat every time I go to the bank to cash my paycheck. He cant pay the rent at our office any more but he promises that i will have a job working out of his house for him and his partner. I try not to be sad or negative and close my eyes to the truth. i am on a sinking ship and I cant get off cuz there are no jobs here. What do I do? There is no money for school and if I do not get a job I will be in major trouble for the bills I owe. i am on probation cuz i used to drink so I have to work. that is why i stay on this ship. It will sink soon, I fear. What do I do?

Don't fret until the day comes that either:
a) he doesn't give you a paycheck (I've been there!)
or
b) the paycheck he gives you bounces (had that happen too!)

Then it's time to jump and look for another job -- even if that means moving to another town.

Stay calm keep looking for a new job of some kind and stick with the one you have until it finally does sink unless of course a better one comes along.

Move somewhere else to get a job. Don't keep working for him if it compromises your moral values!

Start looking for a new job. Ask that he fires you to cut costs. That way you can claim unemployment (2/3 your average salary for the past 6 months). If he does not have to pay you, he can use that money to pay off his bills. When things turn around for the company, you can ask for your old job back.

It might not be enough to cover your bills, but Unemployment will help while you get a more stable job.

I would Never EVER be a party to lying for someone else. Find another job, even if it means going to WalMart and becoming a cashier (nothing wrong with that, BTW) or bagging groceries at the store. If you are on probation, this could well lead you to jail.... He is too crooked so do something and get out of there.

1) Check state employment office to make sure he is paying your state/fed income taxes

2) DON'T go to work out of his home!

3) Your probation officer might be able to help you and even appreciate your coming to him/her for help because it shows that you are attempting to stay on the straight and narrow path.

One day you'll come to work and he'll have flown the coop with your retirement plan. I'd say get injured at work but he probably hasn't paid workmens comp either.

Can you do what he does.... without his overhead, without his debt?

Maybe this is something you can do on your own, starting out of your house???

Take his contact listing... and give it a shot..

IF its the type of business that you can not start up yourself... Sell yourself to his competitors, bringing his clients with you.
