How do i contact my lanlady? |
my landlady changed her phone number and i can not get ahold of her i've went to the town i've went to my worker ive went to people who does work for her and still can not seem to get ahold of her. i need repairs done she informed me 5 mounths ago i must pay for theese repairs out of my own pocket and keep the receit but ontario works pays my rent direct and wont stop direct payment also when i contacted them they said she had 2 mounths worth of rent checks sitting in their office for her and not just from me what do i do? I am assuming this "Ontario Works" is some sort of social welfare organization? Your caseworker should be able to contact her (or know what legal routes to take) if they are paying your rent for you to live in a less than livable space...they could potentially threaten to stop payment on the checks that are still sitting on her desk or not send checks in the future if she is a slumlord...I am unfamiliar with Canadian law so I don't know if you have an attorney general there or even a tenant/landlord association that can help you resolve this, but you need to find out if such things exist in your country, they can be helpful too... Send her a registered letter. If you dont know the address go and give to one of the people who work for her. The tax assessor should know her address if you can get them to give it to you. |
