Wonder where our dollars are going?

Did you know that every single white house congressional office has an office budget of more than 40k per year? That doesn't have anything to do with paid staffers. A free office that doesn't pay anything for rent or mortgage, heating or electricity or property taxes etc etc, that costs 40k per year. Multiply that by the number of congressional offices. Now add in all of the paid airline trips as well as the cost of mileage. The hotel rooms, per diem and cost of meals.
Now if we had some serious controls over that and scrutinized it as much as we would say a non-profit, how much would we save? Even if we just quit bankrolling the staffer's trips and other excesses how much would we save and give back to the taxpayers? Who really needs to tighten their belts, us or them?

I hear what you're saying my friend and I agree that's completely messed up but man that's peanuts to what we're spending in Iraq. If you want to point to one single thing that is bankrupting this country point to Iraq. Bush knows he messed up big there but his ego will not allow him to correct the problem, so we'll suffer for it.

Don't forget the 1.5 trillion we pumped into Iraq. That will be coming back home soon too, but not the troops, they stay.
