Can I be forgery charges be made against me if I was given a fictious receipt?

I paid our rent via money order to the prop mgr office. I dropped off the money order in the night mailbox since I get home late. I received two receipts at my apartment in TX and my fiancee called to verify that we were current and to find out if we had a balance because the receipt said no balance. Anyways, the office said they never issued a receipt and asked my fiancee to fax over copy. According to office that these were false, and they were going to file charges and push for eviction. Is this possible?

money orders are traceable so you should be able to proove that you made that payment...you should have a receipt since money orders come with one. Check with the office you purchased the MO at and ask them. I do not believe there is any proof to work off of as far as criminal charges. This is a civil problem.
