Should I check back (renting question)? |
I used to rent an apartment from a realty group in town. I have a really good rental history with them. I rented an apt. for 3 years before leaving town to attend a school program. I ended up unexpectantly returning back to town. I lived with my family for awhile, then got into what I thought was a great job, and let the realtors know I was looking at apartments again. I ended up not liking the job at all, and left after a week. A week after this, the realtor called me saying an apt. was open. She made a special effort because there was a waiting list - she called me because I was a good rentor. I felt so bad, but I had to tell them that I was just not ready to rent at that time. them I'd like to move at the end of this month, if possible. It will just be better to do it close to the 1st of the month, and my work schedule really picks up in the fall so I want to move soon. It was a couple weeks ago that I talked to them. I'm getting nervous because I'm afraid they'll think I'm unreliable with my past false start - though, they said they would call me. I made sure to explain the best I could that I was ready to take it on this time. I'm just a little edgy because it's nearing the end of the month. Should I check back with them, or would that be too pushy. I know that things don't always work as quickly as I'd like. It's just I feel this is the right time for me to move. I would hope they would see how mature and responsible you were being by not making a commitment like that lightly and that is just 1 reason that you make a great renter! Go for it! I think it would be a good idea...you were a good renter and it's not like you rented the apartment and left before the lease was up, you just politely turned them down the 1st time they called. I am sure they will give you another chance :) Go ahead and call them. By calling them, it will show them that you are for sure going to move this time. And maybe they will move you up on the list again. sure I would. |
