How can I help a needy family in NJ?

I know a needy family. The father in his 50's is out of work, by doctors orders. He is on something called general assistance. He gets $90 a month, plus health care. The daughter is a teen adult, and is doing her best but cant support the two of them.

I want to help but I am limited by my own financial burdens. Can anyone suggest an organization that can help them? They need hep with rent, bills and pretty much everything else. They live in NJ, Ocean county.

I know they tried to get rent assistance, but I dont know from who. It did not work out because "their case worker wanted some kind of paperwork, but the women in the apartment buildings office refused to write out the proper paperwork".

If anyone has suggestions on how I can point them in the right direction, it would be great. They only need help until they can figure something out.
