Housing Benefit Incompetence or SCAM? In Bury Manchester Something Very Sinister?

The Housing Benefit office in Bury, Manchester have really proved their incompetence to me.

I applied electronically with the Job center April 7th, 1 month later I call and Housing Benefits Dept they say they never received it, I go down immediately and fill the forms again, end of June they agree to 拢96.00 per week but my rent is 拢130.00 per week, they forget to pay the backlog to March 1st and say I have to apply again for that, as well as apply for discretionary Housing Benefit from the council for the rent shortfall.

It is July 15 th now and they owe me over 拢2000.00 in back payments, my Landlord has issued eviction proceedings as he can't hold on any longer.

I was told by the Job center that Housing Benefit claims take 3 weeks, they are working overtime and weekends as there is a backlog. This backlog is now 12 weeks. I think they are lying for some reason but I don't

My Question is, how do I get them to pay?
Has anyone sufferd these delays too. Are the delays deliberate for some reason?

yes a similar thing happened to me;what I did is contact my local MP's office and explained the situation to them and they resolved it for me and actually as I had the mans name who hadnt put my form in that should of he was fired.

There is too much corruption in council and governments departments these days, also they are employing incompetents in these jobs just to get their stastistics up on who they employ so as they can look P.C.

Housing Benefit have agreed to pay your rent, you can ask them for an ' interim payment' whilst they fanny about trying to catch up on their backlog.
Your landlord may have started eviction proceedings against you, but it is not guaranteed that he will get it.
A magistrate will look at the facts of the case and see it is no fault of yours. He/she can order the council to make a payment to prevent eviction.
I cannot see the Job Centre staff lying to you, they don't know what goes on in the HB section of the town hall. I found all Labour run town halls incompetent ( Manchester is as bad ).
Keep on friendly terms with your landlord. Write to your MP or visit one of their surgeries. Ring the local press and tell them your story, it is amazing what bad publicity can do, especially if the council has targets to meet.
If you really want a soul destroying afternoon with an officious half-wit, make an appointment with HB team.
Take a friend with you act as a witness and have a list of questions. Don't let them fob you off, you want times, dates and MONEY!!. Good luck.

When your landlord applies to the court , for eviction , write to the court and explain as it is your local council that are lieable for the payment of your rent .

The court will not allow you to be evicted due to this matter , the landlord should be taking action agaist the council , not you
