What does it mean when workers go on 'strike'? |
Hello, I have just left school and have got myself a job in an office. When I sat down this morning there was talk in the office about a 'strike' later in the year. I know that when people go on strike it means they sit outside their place of work and don't actually go in to work until something, usually wages, change. You must strike if all other workers are striking... You will be expected to join with the others, I know it ain't fair, but if you are the only one going into work, you will not be popular, wait and see what happens. its when you down tools and leave the job and refuse to work until your conditions are meet. use to be effective until a thatcher government came along check this link its good they stop working''' |
