Ive been left with no money from the inland revenue for 3 weeks, has this ever happened to anyone else and why

I had a change of circumstances going from a single claiment to a joint claim with my partner, the claim has been sent to claiment compliance and they requested proofs of income and bank statements which i sent on tuesday. They cannot award my claim until they have received the documents i sent. My partner is on a fluctuating wage as a sales canvasser and it is commission based, there fore we have been living on about 拢60 per week for a family of 4 for the last 3 and a half weeks. We have rent to pay and council tax etc but have been unable to pay. We have been passed from pillar to post and we were even told that we could get a hardship payment if we went to our local tax office, then they said that they could not authorize because our claim had not been awarded!!!. Has anyone else been in this situation with the tax credits and what did you do?

I told tax credit about my changes and ended up with 拢700 pound being paid into my bank, when i phoned to tell them their was a mistake they said it was right and the money was right only for them to tell me two years later it was a **** up and i have to pay it back, do not trust the tax credits they only help in putting you in more poverty than you were origaninally

An enquiry centre can not give a hardship payment if compliance is involved without authorisation from compliance. I've seen people wait alot longer then you for money when their involved. I would advise contacting compliance and asking them to authorise a payment which you can collect at your nearest office.

You should at least be claiming housing benefit and council tax benefit to help...contact local authority

As for the tax credits....there is no reason why the inland revenue can not authorise your claim....all they have to do is ring the tax credits office and ask if there is likely to be an award. Get back over to inland revenue (tax office)and refuse to leave without a payment or a reason why you are not going to get one

You have to do this because your skint and all they are doing is waiting for one department to talk to the other....make them do this yourself otherwise you will be fobbed off forever
