How can I contest an eviction that never happened? |
I lived at an apartment complex last year, and since they never held up on their agreements to repair damaged items in my apartment, I paid over $2K to get out of my lease early, which included March's rent, and that would have been my last month there. You can get a letter from the complex management or owner stating that you didn't get evicted. Then the letter needs to be sent to all the credit reporting agencies with a request that it be posted to your credit report, if they won't just take it off. Go to the Courthouse, get the papers they filed and prepare a motion to have it tossed out of court. Very simple. Have that same person contact your new landlord with that statement. End of story. File a complaint with your local housing authority. They will be glad to help. Also, in the future, don't rent from corporations. Rent from people. Start a slander law suit. |
