Ladies, would you date me and my baggage?

Im a 37 year old man and have never settled down, i rent a flat but have a decent job. I split up with my ex, she's 33, 8 months ago. We'd been together for 6 years engaged for 2! We said we would never split and were going to have kids together but the time never seemed right! She got a new job in a different office two years ago. Just when i thought we were ready to start a family. She was very happy about it,so we decided to postpone kids for a couple of years til she'd established herself in the new role! The money was good but she worked all the time. We were saving some up for the wedding also, wasnt going to be too big! I then found out she was having an affair with her 53yr old boss! She told me she'd had affairs before but i thought shed changed! I threw her out and was broken! It was painful, i feel left on the shelf, destined never to have a family! I met a girl 2 weeks ago, my friends wifes younger sister, she's only 26, and beautiful. Am i crazy to think i can ask her out?

There is no harm. Take in confidence your friend's wife and if she is convinced, u can proceed. There is no fault of yours in the broken affair. Everyone would have taken the same action.

Keep in mind that people don't change much. A cheater does not respect you or his or her own integrity. Be careful... even the lady you want to date could have potential flaws. You are not crazy! Just be careful and try not to read things into life that are not there. The x took advantage of your trust in her.

Well you are free and single but a word of caution here, be careful you are not on the re- bound Hun. This is so easily done, 37 years is not old you have plenty of time to date yet and have a family etc.To rush into a relationship whilst you still have issues with the last one is not fair on you and certainly not fair on this 22 year old or anyone else. All you are doing is passing your issues on to someone else and before you know it, your insecurities have ruined a relationship that could have had promise, this then leads to more insecurities within you and so it continues. My advice, deal with your issues first, get to a point where you can enter a relationship without hang ups. Trust of that person comes after time but to go into it with a happy heart is better and has more of a chance of lasting. Be fair to yourself.

no. you've been through a rough time, and they say the best way to heal a broken heart is if someone can put it back together and give new memories to replace the old ones. but be careful; you're not supposed to be on the rebound. because if you are then don't expect that it will turn out different for you and for her. you might just be in for another broken heart, and she's gonna be hurt too. just test the waters first before going for a dip. if you're really moving on, then it's you get a fresh start with someone else. bothered by the age gap? if she isn't then there's no pint worrying about it. it will only be in the way of both of you getting to know each other mbetter, and maybe, developing this growing feeling between both of you. if i were 26 too, i'd give you a consideration and a chance. it's up to you to leave the baggage behind, or for her to understand it and understand you. everyone deserves to have a happy second chance. hope you get yours. =) goodluck with her.

We all have baggage,but it's important not to allow the past to bring us down. There's nothing more unattractive than someone constantly waffling on and on about their ex. You have to know you're really over your ex girlfriend before you can move on. In my opinion, 26 is a little young for you, but maybe she's mature for her age. You need to be around your friends sister-in-law so you can get to know her and see if there's any chemistry there. Don't be intimidated by her beauty, you're starting off with the wrong attitude.You sound like a decent bloke, you need to know your worth. Sounds like you're still fragile, but you seriously want to move on. You will know if this new girl likes you by spending time in her company. You know this already, you just need a push as you're afraid of rejection. Best attitude is to take it all in your stride, plenty more fish in the sea.
