Illegal workers ruining our economy?

I am concerned with how illegals are taking jobs in this country. I have seen employer after employer rid themselves of quality employees and hire illegal criminals to fill in the empty positions. I have been let go from 4 jobs in the past 3 years in favor of cheap illegal labor. I have a child and am a single parent with 3 jobs now and absolutley no way of seeing my own child because of having to work so much just to keep a roof over our heads, and food on the table. Where once i was a machinist now i have to flip burgers, wait tables, and wash cars for no more than 8.25 hr, and NO benefits. My child was sick once and i had to skip my rent to just pay the hospital bills. The state won't help me because I make TOO much money. Are they kidding. We skip 2 maybe three meals a week and they say i make too much money for help. As I left the office of welfare some well known illegals i knew came in to apply for medicare and food stamps which I was refused and they were accepted.

These people were driving an escalade while i drove an 83 toyota. They were working for a construction company that payed them well over $15 hr. When i asked about how to get the job they pointed me to their site manager who in turn refused me for work based on the fact that He couldn't afford to pay medical insurance for me and to try somewhere else. I was told when I was young to learn english because not many people spoke spanish, but that has only hurt me as far as i can see. My english is fluent but that's not important anymore in this country. I also see many kids without summer jobs because of the illegal problem. I've payed into the system for all of my working life and now that I need help I get refused because the money they took from me is going to keep the illegals in the escalade while I watch my child suffer without knowing his father because of long hours and low pay. It seems that there is no end in sight and uncle sam just doesn't care for me. Your opinions please.

well..., thank you for the message you send me, and daym i know it is hard to maintain a child. but what you can do is go to the "pulga" and buy cheap stuff and sell it on e-bay. do all you possibly can. or move... for example i live here in laredo tx. and well even though its a border town they rearly hire immigrants. but yes i know it is tough, but keep on fighting and dont loose faith, God will always be by your side. keep on trying... you can do it!

Be more concerned about how illegals are punking down wages, breaking unions, and bankrupting the US healthcare system.

This cheap labor is driving down the wages of Americans. If I hear the three stooges, W, Gutierrez, and Chertoff say one time that the illegals are doing the jobs that American will not do, I am going to shoot my TV and I love my TV. Those in gated community, with private schools and private health insurance for their families, have not a clue about the working class in the country

dont just blame the illegals. You do know that outsourcing is dominating the corp. world? Even people with college degrees will have a hard time finding jobs because their jobs are lost to outsourcing. Don't whine about it. Find ANY job possible, its not that hard.

Stop your whining and get your diploma! Do whatever it takes. Your kid depends on you to take care of business. If you are spending time at the library, you should check out some books on personal finance and job trends (Bureau of Labor Statistics). For the determined there is always time and opportunity!

Unbelievable! Here is a man who works three jobs to support his child and himself and has been personally affected by this disgusting ILLEGAL INVASION of our sovereignty and our economic structure and all of the horrendous crimes being committed on a daily basis by ILLEGALS, and here we get to read some PR***S smart a** answer about you going to find a job and to cut off your Internet!!! And then you have to justify yourself by explaining to the A**H*** that you use a libraries computer!!! The only constructive advice I can offer is for you to get in touch with some of the better known organizations that are TRULY and SERIOUSLY trying to correct these devastating issues we as tax-paying Americans deserve to be addressed. If American businesses were not giving those jobs to illegal immigrants they would go out of the country and give it to some Chinese in China.

Illegals drive down earnings, drive up the cost of housing through increased demand, increase our taxes by using our social services. Plus the culture clash, increased pollution, congested metro areas and gang problems. They do not do jobs that Americans won't do. They do jobs that employers exploit. Low pay, no overtime, long hours, no benefits, no comp if they get hurt and do what they are told without complaining.

Employers really need to get cracked down on with HEAVY penalties and even jail time. We already have the laws in our books. We have just been so lax in enforcing them that employers don't even care.

It sounds like you are a bit down on your luck for some reason or other and you choose to blame it on the "illegals." You have seen "employer after employer" rid themselves of "quality" people--sounds to me like you can't hold a job. Maybe you should focus on doing a better job and quit blaming others so much.
