How much money do you have to be making in order to live in a bachelor apartment in Toronto?

Hi,
I am looking to rent a bachelor apartment in Toronto (preferably around $800-900 per month).
I am just wondering how much should I be making per year to get an approval from a rental office?

Does any of you have experience regarding this issue?

You could try the Crossways at Dundas and Bloor. They rent Bachelors for about $750 there. When my friend moved in, they didn't ask him how much he made. They only called the building he used to live in before to ensure he was an OK tennant.

Make at least $3200.00 per month. The rule of thumb is that rent take up no more than 25 per cent of your income.

To maintain an apartment of $800-$900 per month plus any extra's like heating costs you would need an annual income of at least $40,000, as the ratio used for your cost of living is between 28% and 32% of you income.
