Still living at home....?

I am a 21 year old, and i have NO college degree, i am taking a semester off, maybe more, college doesn't seem like it's for me. I have no idea what to do with my life. I been looking for a job for the past FEW months and had NO success, everywhere i applied were office jobs of some sort, i am trying to find a goog paying job that doesn't require a degree or much experience, but thats the problem all the jobs want a degree or at least a few months of experiernce, and i have none, so i applied to this retail store and got the job, they pay just a buck more than miminum wage, and they are only giving me part time hours right now. I still live at home, my mom doesn't ask for money but i want to pay her rent, i dont know how much i should pay her each month, i do plan to go back to school but right now i just want to work and take time off, i might try to find a second job, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to calculate or how much sounds reasonable to pay each month. Thanks!

I know how you feel. Seeming that you are already earning a low wage, why not sell yourself to these office jobs? What I mean is, make them aware of who you are and say you are willing to earn less than someone more expereinced than you because you want to and are eager to learn. I earn pittance but I got my job doing just that. Be dynamic and impressive. Research the companies you send your resume to and write them a covering letter showing off what you know about them and how your skills are relevant to the role. Good luck!!!!

As for rent help your mom by buying groceries and let her show you how the bills arrive and how to handle that scenerio..

If you have soo much time on your hands you Better be an expert in managing your finances and bill paying, thats where the job comes in to play..

Everyone wants top dollar and having little no experience is not equal to recieving that wish..

Study. Work, Play, Live ... I bet if you take a semester off you will not go back and if you do you will loose much of what you learned...

You鈥檙e living with a caring family who probably wants you to succeed. I'd do something a little different and give them all that you can for rent with one caveat, that they save the money for you IF you go back to school. If you don't go back within two years, then the money is theirs to keep. If you do, then it will be nice to have that for money to help finance your schooling. It appears that by now that you realize the investment you would be making in yourself by going back to school as soon as you can.
