I need everyone's advice? |
Here's my ordeal. And yess I a do have a hubby and he has a good job Well there are 2 basic things to consider in your question. How much is your happiness worth and what do you need to achieve with your income.Work generally requires one to be away from home but why make more only to just hate the time spent. One of the larger parts of a good job is actually enjoying the work.Crazy statement but true it is far better and less stressful to go to a job you enjoy. You may make less money yet you keep your self satisfaction and self esteem. When you get home you have more energy to enjoy your family. Not to mention your family would much prefer to hear about how good your day was. This in turn makes most things more enjoyable all together. So in the end we have to asses what price we are willing to pay for our daily life.Sure we all want to make as much money as possible but in the end what will this end up costing us. Go with what you love. All the money in the world can't make up for a job you hate that stresses you out. Totally go for the hair thing. I'm assuming you have a hubby or someway to still have income when times are low. Family and you're "real life" are way more important than money and crappy jobs. sounds good to me =) Do as your heart desires! This new gig sounds like a flexible job, and you'll get to spend more time with your baby. :) Remember, money is not always everything. Put your happiness first! I think you should run the numbers, make sure you have some savings, make a budget to follow for the next couple months, then make the move if it all sounds good. Your daughter deserves to have time with you and you with her, even if you have to cut back on a few things. Staying at a job that isn't meant for you is no fun and can wear on a person... Do whatever you think will make you happiest. Life's too short to have a sh*tty job and miss out on your kids. But before you go, tape a bag of raw meat under that guy's chair. It should start stinking within a few days. >:o) Weigh all the options first....but know this....money should never be your first priority....its not what will make you or your baby happy....good luck :) I'm the office manager where I work....gotta handle all the same stuff, pretty much sucks. If I had a license to do hair I would do it in a heartbeat b/c this line of work is quite unfulfilling, and it would be nice to chat it up with clients. Plus, you probably would get to see your daughter. If it were me I would go for it, but definelty check where you will be with benefits! You don't want to drop all coverage for sure. other from that, go for it! Honey, do what you love! Life's too short to be miserable. I have a college degree in nursing. Money's great, but the stress is killer. Now I teach middle school science at a small private school making 1/3 what I made nursing. Would i do it again? Heck yeah. No amount of money is worth making yourself that miserable. |
