Apartment problem...What should I do?

I live in an apartment in Las Vegas, NV. My A/C has been broken for 1 week, and the leasing office doesn't seem to care.
Where do I go from here?? Should I contact property management? What else could I do to get the issue resolved? Thanks...

Is A/C included in your lease? If so, what does the lease state as far as who is responsible for repairs? If lease states that landlord is responsible, sent a letter to managment...certified...demanding that the A/C be addressed within 10 days.

Not all apartment maintenance men are qualified to work on air conditioning. They may have had to call an A/C company. Last time I had to call an A/C company it was 10 days before they had an opening.

It could also be that there were other repairs that are considered urgent, like sparking electrical panels or broken water pipes, etc. A/C is not considered urgent.

Perhaps you could stick your head into the office and ask for the status of your repair order.
