North Carolina Rental Law? |
I am moving to an apt complex and everything is OK, I just have to sign the lease. I probably didn't express myself well. I don't want the actual contract that will be signed. I want a copy, so I can handle it to my personal attorney. I have free attorney service, but would have to pay if they actually have to sit down at the office to read it. And then it would be on me to be sure I am signing what I read... Yes, it's legal, and there is a reason why it can't be removed before it's signed. It is not illegal to have such a policy, but is a great reason to look for another apartment to rent. I am sure if you speak to someone higher up the corporate ladder that you want your lawyer to review any contract you enter into, they will agree to giving you a a copy to peruse at you leisure. |
