Is there a dog breed that looks exactly like a pit bull that is called a Kerr? |
I live in an apartment complex where pit bulls or mixes are banned. One family still owns 2 of them in violation of their lease and have provided suspect veterinary verification stating that their older dog and brand new puppy (Who both look exactly like pit bulls and I have extensive experience with the breed...) are a totally unrelated breed called a "Kerr". At first I thought this was a bastardization of the word 'cur' but after seeing both dogs more closely and seeing one kill a neighbor's cat I am of the opinion that they are pit bulls and that their owners are not responsible enough to raise them properly so that they do not present a danger to others. My main question is whether a 'kerr' exists or if not then is there a breed of dog which outwardly looks exactly like a pit bull perhaps a cur that I have never seen or heard of in my years working with a veterinary office? Actually, I know a cur but not a kerr. I wish people would be literate enough to read a question before answering it. In any case, there is a breed that is commonly called a pit bull and no breed that I know of that is named a "KERR". Hence the question. I find it ridiculous that those who obviously didn't read the original question felt it necessary to respond to it. This question is being made at the request of the management here so that the tenants can be evicted. I wanted to make sure that there was not a Kerr breed and that they had indeed falsified their supposed vet paperwork prior to acting. I originally stated my skepticism on the 'Kerr' breed story and never stated that I was confused as to the differences between any cur and an American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier or any other dog known as a pit bull. I specifically asked about a breed I had not heard of known as kerr, thanks for the non-asshat answers. It is the bastardization of "cur" which means two things. Sometimes old school pitbull breeders called a dog who wasn't "game" or wouldn't continue fighting a "cur". And some old school pitbull breeders called pitbull mutts "curs". I think the CKC recognizes a breed called the "Black Mouth Cur" which again is a pitbull type mutt I think they used for hunting. Well if it looks like a pit it's deffinatly not a cur http://www.huntingdogsreviews.com/images... Black Mouth Cur They don't look like Pits...but there's a Black Mouth Cur |
