How to legally break a lease in Ohio? |
I need to move to another state for health purposes but my lease isn't up until August. Is there any way to get out of my lease without negative consequences? The rental office says I would have to pay the $1,019 for the remaining 4 months. $4,076 in all. Most times if you are willing to show your apartment/condo your landlord will let you terminate your lease upon finding a suitable new tenant. If not, most states only allow a landlord to charge 3 months of rent, as this is considered suitable time to find a new tenant. I certainly would not ask my boss or anyone else to lie for me. At the end of the day, all you are left with is your integrity. Good Luck. ask your boss to write a letter saying you need to relocate for business purposes... hopefully he/she is willing to tell a white lie. In my opinion When you signed that lease you made a contract legal and binding though, there are exceptions and also rights of the tenants. |
