Help me fix a window the cheapest way possible?

I broke the window in my kitchen, its not very big, maybe the size of a pizza box. its double paned and is quartered. I have to fix it in 24hrs or i get a huge fine from my leasing office.
Where is the best place to get WHAT supplies?
And HOW do I do it?
I'm on a super tight budget and would like to do it myself to save costs. PLEASE HELP ME.

If you can replace the window yourself, you can get the glass at any hardware store. The damage will be repaired, but the insulating qualities of the window are compromised. That's livable though.

A pane of glass has an R-value of about 1. A double-paned window is about 2.3. If you put in another piece of glass, you're going to be at R-2.0. No one is going to notice a 0.3 drop in the window's performance.

double paned can only be fixed by a glass company

to save money you can take it out and put it back in yourself but only a glass company has the equiptment to make the double pane glass

I would recommend NOT doing it yourself. You could get in more trouble by improperly installing the window. This could also lead to the owner getting fined. So get a professional and have them work with you on the price.

Use a roll of cling film - quick, affordable, and you can wrap your sandwiches in it, if you ever took the notion...

put a wooden plank in instead of a window

youn need nails and a board plus a hammer. total cost: about $5
