Do i have a legitamate reason to break my lease?? |
ok long story short,i have some neighbors and almost every night at about 11:30 or 12:00 they pull up in front of my daughters window (11 yrs old) and blast their music,it wakes her up (happening for about 2 weeks now) during her FCATS (major testing) .when i asked the girl politely to not do it,first she goes off and starts yelling and screaming at me all kinds of racial crap, i called the cops to get someone to try to talk to her about this problem, well since the cops cant hear it because by the time they got here it wasnt playing theres nothing they can do.ok so the next day i call the office to make a complaint.the same day the dad of the girl, pulls up and starts threatening me ,the cops again were called but nothing was done.ok so again the office was contacted by the police and were told what happened.again nothing is done.the next 2 or so days the guy starts walking around screaming at 11:30 black power,.last night the music again.and threatning looks.i feel unsafe.what to do?? i live in an apt,and ive told the manager everytime its happened.she insists that i l call and let her hear the music on her voicemail, but it takes sooo long to get to her voicemail.and im tired of worrying constantly about my kid being home alone when im at work.i cant quit my job nor should i have to because the apts cant somewhat control thier tenants.dont they have an obligation here??am i wrong in thinking they should deal with this??instead of just telling me that they have to hear it for themselves or that another tenant besides us has to make a complaint??whats wrong here?? there should be a clause in your lease about the property being habitable I dont know about anyone else but being kept up all day and night and being harassed by your neighbors doesnt seem very habitable to me and you should tell your landlord the same I know that you really unsafe although no one will let you break a lease unless you went into the military or into a nursing home. I know this because I was trying to break a lease because I bought a house and they said those are the only two reason you can legally break a lease. I am sorry. Best Wishes.
