Tax exemptions for someone self employed? |
What is it that I can write off? I work from home and there are things I need for my job and I am not sure how much or what I can write off. Do I need to open up an LLC and have my employer pay the LLC in order to write things off such as my lease payment on my car? I do quite a bit. I manage parts of the company I work for and am also listed as an adviser. Hope this helps. You're asking about business expense deductions, NOT exemptions. Exemptions are governed by your filing status and the number of dependents claimed on your return and have nothing to do with your business. Do not bother with an LLC, it will not reduce your taxes. You really need to see a professional until you get a better handle on the basics. |
