My upstairs neighbors are constanly noisy throughout all hours of the night. How can I get them to be quiet?

My upstairs neighbors are a bunch of college kids constantly blaring music and throwing parties all throughout the night. My ceiling is often vibrating from the noise. I am a college student myself and understand throwing parties but it can be done without being so loud. It be different if it was one night here or there but its nearly every night of the week. I know for fact their all underage and drinking and doing drugs. I have contacted the apartment office who have issued them violations of their lease notice on several occasions. I tried talking to them first. The other night I had to call the cops but I do not believe the cops ever actually showed up. I would like to get some sleep sometime. People that lived up there before them we never heard so I know its just not the walls not blocking sound

I think if enough complaints are made, tenants can get evicted.

At this point in time, after all you've already done, go to the police station in person & file a complaint.

The police are going to have to do something in the face of a complaint being filed, in person.

bang on your ceiling with a broom..
toss baseballs up at the roof....
play music really loud

or

leave an anonymous note
tell the landlord and have him deliver the message...many apartments have a part in the lease that talk about loud noises, and if ur neighbor is violating that then the landlord should step in

Two things:

First, have you asked the occupant to please keep the noise level down after 11pm?

Second, have you asked the manager for a different apartment?

Call the police. You don't have to identify yourself to them as the person who called on them, if you don't want to.

If the police don't come, call them again. And every night that they party loudly past 10 PM. You have rights, too. Insist on it.

hit the ceiling with a broom as hard as you can. it may sound Rude and aggressive but it gets the message across. i had the same situation during my college years the cops did nothing,Talking to them did nothing, the landlord did nothing you've got to take a more aggressive approach. unless you want to be a total softie remember they owe you the courtesy of being a respectful neighbor. or when they blast there music scream at them to shut the hell up it sounds crazy but i nothing else works sometimes its what you have to do. you shouldn't have to live like that I've been there and know how annoying noisy neighbors can be.

even though talking to them might not seem like progress, i still think you should do it. talking to them would show that you actually mean it, and you want them to stop immediately. compromise, and tell them to throw parties on weekends, or something.

move

politely ask them to be quiet,if that doesn't work then talk to the land lord about it
