Does the DMV mail your license after you pass the driving test?

Or do you get it the same day?
If they mail it, what do I do if I pass the driving test, then move AFTER they mail it? It will already be on it's way out, so there will be no point in completing an address change form at the post office because my license will already be at my old address before the transferring process even begins. (I haven't moved yet, don't know where I'll move, but definently have to move because my lease is ending.

I live in CA.

In IA, if you pass the test, they send you right over to have your picture taken, and you get license right away.

You could always put an address that you know you will be able to get your mail, like parents, siblings, friends, etc.

When you pass the test, you should get your license right there at the testing station.
