How is Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick still in office? |
Strippers at the the official residence of the mayor鈥攖he city-owned Manoogian Mansion, the city paid for a lease for a Lincon Navigator for Kwame's family, used $8,600 from his secret Kilpatrick Civic Fund to take his wife, three sons and babysitter on a week long vacation to a five-star California resort, the La Costa Resort and Spa while the funds were for education and economic improvement, Kilpatrick was sued by two ex-members of his bodyguard staff for fireing them for whislteblowing and were awarded $6.5 million in damages, Kilpatrick and his then chief of staff Christine Beatty lied about the sexual nature of their relationship and their involvement in the firing of Deputy Police Chief Gary Brown, There was also evidence that Kilpatrick and Beatty used city funds to arrange romantic getaways. Beatty resigned amid allegations that she and the mayor lied under oath about an affair. he is still might get fired , they are still checking out things about him , then you got to remember most of the people in charge are his friends and family so they won't do anything to hurt their good paying jobs Come on, it's Detroit. Didn't he just get elected? The 'Lincoln Navigator' incident happened before Kwame's last election; The citizens of Detroit knew full well he was a crook and a thug (he sicked his 'posse' on reporter Steve Wilson and roughed him up for questioning the mayor about the Lincoln) and they still voted him into office for another term!?!?! |
