Fast!!! My boyfried and I have been told by our apt. leasing office...? |
Well... my boyfriend was attacked by our neighbor a while back and since then, the living situation has been hell... But anyway- We were told that due to numerous complaints we can move out at any time although our lease isn't up until the end of May. She said that we can go in and sign a new, revised copy of the lease with the end date modified. But we think that another signed letter stating that no penalties will be assessed and it will not go on our rental history might be a good idea too. Any other suggestions as to what else this letter we intend to take them to sign should include? Any certain wording we should use so to not cause any misunderstandings!? what state are you in? state landlord / tenant laws vary some. but yes your idea sounds like a good, I manage apts myself, but ive heard from so many people who claim that they were told they could vacate for what ever reason, but dont get it in writing then find it on their credit report. im sure some of the stories are true, so cover all your bases! you should put something in there re damages and maybe sec. deposit being refunded and or forfieted depending on what yall have agreed on. If they want to shorten your lease and you are agreeable, there isn't really need for the letter you describe. |
