Should l love thy neighbors or hate thy neighbors?

I recently moved-in a upscale neighborhood my neighbors are making false complaints about me to the leasing office what should l do?They complain about excessive noise, disturbance and unauthorized occupants. How do they know who is and not on my lease? lm at home 5-6 hrs aday and l live alone. l live in white neighborhood and lm black.. l hate to think this could be a racial thing but what can l do to make my life easier to deal with such neighbors? I'm almost at the breaking point..

Hey it depends on how people treat you. If they are making false complaints, then that is totally wrong to do.I mean why start trouble with someone who doesn't do anything to you. Maybe you should ask them why they are making false complaints about you. Some people just like to start trouble. I hope you find peace with whoever that is making these complaints.

Please don't assume they're racist. Maybe they're just regular jerks.
You should talk to your local police. You can file a protection from harassment thingy, I would guess. It's probably illegal to use the leasing office or any other authority to bother you by making false complaints. Share whatever you they recommend to you with the leasing office.
If I were working at the leasing office, I would tell your neighbors to call the police next time they hear too much noise or distrubance. Yea it sucks to have the police at your door, but at least then you might be able to document that an unbiased person didn't hear excessive noise or you weren't home or were home alone.

You could try to talk to them and show them your a nice person but if they continue, go to the police and explain the situation because thats unfair and stupid

invite them over for coffee. ask them about their concerns and talk with them about how you can solve them together. some people freak about about those they don't know. it might be racial, it might be because you are new to the neighborhood and they aren't good with change. either way, you're neighbors and if they keep complaining, you might not get a new lease. if they aren't considerate during your meeting, tell the leasing office about that.
