My apartment complex is becoming "Ghetto" what can I do? |
I'm a single guy, living in what I thought to be a nice neighborhood and its becoming loud at night, traffic all times of the night, people honking their horns in stuff, is that grounds for me to attempt to break my lease? I know every complex may have its ups and downs, but I can't deal with it anymore and the leasing office is not doing anything about it. What can I do? If your not comfortable in your own apartment building move out ASAP. Start looking for something new ASAP. Get out before it's too late... Talk to management and if they do not respond then you need to go to the management company. If you want to move with out breaking your lease ask if can move to a sister property. meaning another property owned by the same management company but not run by the same manager. They should have a night patrol so you can also make a report to them as well. I am experiencing the same thing. Right now I'm saving $ like crazy and pushing my boyfriend to find a better job so we can move to a different building or buy a small house. How much longer do you have on your lease? Before we bought our house, this happened to the complex we lived in. We decided to wait it out (about 4 months) and timed the closing on our house to coincide with the lease termination. If you still have a long time left on your lease, you should go above the leasing office and try contacting the property owner. They may not even know what's happening at the complex. i don't think you an get out of your lease - they are assholes about that kind of stuff. tuff it out and move asap The management company can't tell people not to drive or honk their car horns. Just tough it out until your lease is up. RUN AWAY FROM THE GHETTO!!! HURRY BEFORE IT TAKES YOU!!! |
