PLEASE HELP! The apt. I am suppose to move into 2day is a DISASTER!!? |
I signed the lease, they gave me my keys & that "move in" inspection report form that you fill out and return within 48hrs. So, I went over last night to run through the checklist, which is usually nothing more than routine, BUT, OMG...what I found....the only word i keep coming back to is "DISTURBING"!! I mean I have to believe that the girls in the leasing office truly have no idea about the shape of that apt...there's NO way....this is serious, this is bad!!!! (yes, I'm freaked) The two page form they gave me is now about 8 pages. How in the world do I go about this. That apt. is not fit to live in right now. I would ask for my money back and move some place else. the rental office needs to know about the place, I would tell them don't move in or get a lawyer. they need to fix it up before anyone can move in. I agree with the person under me, he is right. you should of seen the place before you signed the lease. I did that before I signed the lease in the place I am living HOLY **** I HATE MOVING O YEA ITS A DISASTER!!!!! eney way go to lows and buy a faucet. u should sue for all that stuff u will win to caus eit not a liveable condition show them the apartment tell them they have to fix it today or you want out of the lease and if they give you a problem call the cops You go to the office and tell them this place is not fit for ANYONE to live in and you can't move in. If they won't work with you, then take the paperwork you have fill out and make sure you tell the office workers you'll be back later. Take pictures of everything that is wrong. (Just in case they fix it while your gone) and then go straight to your local board of health. Have a health agent come back with you and I can garantee the problem will be taken care of quickly. I believe you should have up to 72 hours to cancel your lease, if you change your mind, etc. Look at the fine print of your lease. The ladies in the leasing office, should have explained that option to you before giving you the keys. Pictures, lots of pictures. make a copy for yourself and a copy for your rental office. Drop them off with the keys and a very detailed letter explaining that the apt is un-inhabitable and you do not feel safe. Send a subsequent copy of the letter (ceritfied ) to them as well. DO NOT MOVE IN. |
