Noisy Neighbors: PLEASE HELP?

Please help my situation..I live in a very nice apartment complex and I've lived here for over 2 years..I used to live in another unit and I NEVER experienced noise from upstairs neighbors. The neighbors I have now are so rude and inconsiderate..They stomp till all hours of the night and in the early mornings..it wakes me on my days to sleep in..I've written them a letter asking them to please be quieter because it's so disruptive. They wrote a letter back stating they are not loud and they will not stop anything..and if I had any other problems..to deal with the leasing office..I have told the leasing office numerous times and nothing seems to help. Is there any legal action I can take?? Sometimes they're so loud that I'll hit my broom against the ceiling..they stomp even louder in response..it gives me terrible headaches and stresses me out..any suggestions please!!! I don't wanna move from here..it's a very beautiful place..I appreciate any input..thanks!!!!!!!

You should put your concerns in writing and send them to the leasing office. Make sure you document all future complaints, just in case your neighbors try to cause any bigger problems with you. If the leasing office still does not assist you, let them know you are considering taking legal action, as they are not fulfilling their responsibilities to you as a tenant. You can also call the police and make a noise complaint.
Good luck!

Only thing I can say is get a really loud Subwoofer whenever they are loud and turn it up. When they come to complain, just tell them your sorry you were loud, you were only trying to fit in the neighborhood like them.

Talk to the manager at the leasing office. Let him know that you've lived there for two years, never had a noise problem like this and need his assistance. Since you're a long time resident, they should try to make you happy. Ask the manager if you can call and either him or one of the employees come over when your neighbors are being extremely noisy. If the manager or an employee hears it for themselves they will hopefully, act on it. Let the manager know that some noise is expected, but this is excessive. You enjoy living there and have tried handling it with the neighbor personally, but they said to tell the leasing office. If that doesn't help, then consider moving to a different apartment in the same complex or to another complex, but wait to see if your neighbor's renew their lease. Maybe they'll move soon. Also, check with your other neighbors around you to see if they're having the same problem. If so, everyone complain together. Good Luck!

tell them

Take a long weekend somewhere. Before you leave stack up furniture or place a ladder under the room that they are most noisy in and turn on your boom box very loud close to the ceiling and leave.

I left for three days. A friend made a loop cd of Ingodavida and it played all three days.

They will get the message. But watch your back.

Yeah, I know it's crude...but it is effective. My neighbors must have decided to wear socks from that point on because for two years after I rarily heard them.

call the police!

I have been in this situation before with upstairs neighbors. I tried everything; talking to the people making the noise, talking to the super, writing letters to the management company, etc. Unfortunately, nothing worked. After 7 months of constantly being woken up and kept up and annoyed every single day, I moved. My experience has been that this is unfortunately the only way to solve the problem. But you CAN continue to fight. What I would do is send registered letters to the landlord documenting what is happening and asking for their help in solving the problem. It's their tenant causing the problem. If you're a good tenant, maybe they will be smart and want to keep you. Put pressure on them to step in. Maybe it will work. It's very sad that people can't just be considerate of others. "Kimmi" gave some good advice, and you could also call the police. Now I live on the top floor, and although it doesn't solve all noise problems, it does help.
