How do I find out who used to live at a given address?

I have been frauded, but the police don't seem to want to put together an investigation about it. Therefore, I am going to do a little investigation of my own. A couple years back someone set up an AT&T account in my name. I have the service address where the account was established. I am trying to find out who used to live there, or perhaps who still does live there. It is an apartment address. I don't want to call the leasing office because I suspect that they may even have something to do with the fraud--just a hunch. Anyways, your input is valued and thanked in advance.

this happened to my father a couple of years ago...we contacted AT&T Fraud division and they took care of it.

I think it is more of a headache and more time consuming for you....they specialize in fraud...let them handle it. even if you go to county records...the peoples names may not be those who opened the account.

Go to white pages.com or zaba search and type in the address and get your info. Type in the phone number and do a reverse look up as well and it will give you the address as well. Good Luck

Try & check from the neighbours, else take a chance at a little odd time when you do not expect male members to be at home, go to the given address and maybe luck is with you.

You can ask At & T Fraud division to check the social security numbers to see if they are different from yours. If they are different, go down to your local social security office and see if you have two numbers attached to your name.
If they are the same, then give them all your information,name (with middle initial),place of employment,credit card information(if that is how billed),driver's license number. That way they can check your information with that of what they have been given and see if there is a difference.

You will have to also ask for phone records from AT & T so that you can check to see if it is numbers that are recognized by you.

This all takes time and money. Because it may be a couple of years to maybe more than that, you have the burden of proof to show the fraud against you. That is just the way it works.

Personal Experience - A friend of mine did this to me but I have Identity Theft Protection and it hasn't cost me anything.





The police won't help you with Identity Theft unless you have proof and even then that is the wrong place to ask for help.
