Need help with existing apartment problems....?

I and my girlfriend recently moved into an apartment together we thought at first looking at there furnished and the neighborhood we were making a good choice.

To make a long story short, basically since we moved in have faced upto 30 crictial to non crictial issues with the apartment and a leasing office who is neglent on returning phone calls and responses(still waiting on a call back over a week now). Most of the crictal issues either has been fixed in less than week or more because the apartment manager promised work asap but have to call her and remind her of what she said. The apartments swimming pool that is open is cracked and falling apart around the edges. My girlfriend and I faced a oven fired 3 days after moving in, had the fridge replace, paint strips and chips on cartets, ac replaced and thermosat to name a few.

I was curious who can I turn to for help in this matter to file a complaint. I have tried managment office and there mangaers but no luck. thanks.

I have no idea where you are located.. However, in this case you may call the local health or building officials who may come in an ticket the owner.

This may backfire thought.. I had client who was thrown out because the building official condemned the building. or the landlord could make your life miserable if you do so..

First I would call an attorney and seek for his/her advice.

Second, gather all your receipts, take your landlord to landlord/tenant court and request for your landlord to reimburse you all the monies that you have put into the apartment and explain to the Judge that under the circumstances that you would like to break the current lease and that you shouldn't be liable for the remaining portion of it.

You should have inspected the premises with care before you rented the apartment. If you have a faulty gas stove you might get a gas company inspector to check out the range and oven. A fire or explosion could be serious. Your problem sounds more complicated then your letter has stated. You should submit a list of complaints in writing to the landlord within 30 days of moving in, or as soon as possible, if the time has run. If the owner or leasing company does not make corrections in 30 or 60 days after your written complaint, I suggest that you contact an attorney. Make an organized list of your problems before you get to his office. Get a quote from him before you make an appointment for 30 minutes or an hour. If you can not afford an attorney, your community may have a "legal aid society" that helps indigents. Or, there some religious groups that will help with legal problems.
