Will i lose any information when i upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows XP? Do i need to back everything up?

I am about to upgrade all the computers in my office to Windows XP,at lease i want to... Will i need to backup everything or is it a smooth transition?

Always back up.

If you purchased the Windows XP upgrade, in theory, you won't lose any information. If you purchased a regular windows XP, then it won't do the upgrade and it will want to do a fresh install and you will need to reformat.

You shouldn't lose your information, but back it up just in case. Never trust it 100%.
