Not telling him about court date..Wrong?

I posted a question earlier and maybe you should read that before you answer this one. I have a court date for the 27th of this month for custody and child support. I recieved the letter in the mail telling me the time and date to appear at the attorney generals office and the father didnt because he took over her lease at his sisters apartment and his sister fowarded all of their mail to her new apartment (she put the hislastname family at her new apartment so his mail goes there too.. and she is out of town for a while. Is it wrong for me not to tell him about it and just show up. What would happen if he didn't appear? I really don't want the father to be involved because hes a very BAD BAD person. I know that sound selfish but I would rather raise a child on my own then have to put up with his fathers crap. He is a very violent and controlling person, he actually told me that a 3 month old knows right from wrong..dumbass..but does anyone know what would happen if he doesnt appear

you are under no obligation to tell anybody anything...thats up to the court to see that all parties are properly served and summoned...if you dont want him there and its in your best interest to not have him there...then go for it.....
