Should A woman return monies received from her significant other to purchase a house after they split up? |
She was already renting the house, from a Male freind. He went to prison and his girlfreind wanted to take the house when the lease was up. At this point we were together for a year So we decided to purchase the house buy putting down 3500.00 dollars which I paid.to secure the lease purchase agreement. Her credit was shot so she had to clean up her credit I help facilitate this by paying off debts that showed up on her credit report. Also at closing i paid monies but yet , she refuses to acknowledge the fact that on several occassions even once at her attorneys office I brought up my concern with not having no control over the real property and my monies invested in the house. Now that the relationship has going sour she won't return my portion of the monies use to purchase her house not our house. She won't even talk about it with me when I confront her. Oh, she is a born again Christian, I thought that might help but I guess thats just a title! Unless you had her sign a paper that stated this was a loan you are out of luck. Chalk this up to a lesson learned. When it comes to money and relationships always go by the assumption that you will never see that money again. It will save you from making bad choices and save you from being upset with people when they don't pay you back. Wow! Sorry to hear of all of this. She would be a perfect match for my ex-husband though, that's for sure! I totally understand where you're at!! Take care. Report It DON'T TALK TO HER ANYMORE WITH OUT YOUR LAWYER TAKE HER TO CIVIL COURT CAUSE SHE'S WRONG AND I'M SURE A JUDGE WILL SEE IN YOUR FAVOR YOU HELPED HER ESTABLISH HER CREDIT EVEN AFTER SHE PAYS YOU BACK AND YALL MOVE ON SHE'S IN A BETTER FINANCIAL STATE THEN SHE WAS WHEN SHE MET YOU SHE'S WRONG AS HELL. |
