Alley Cat Ally being Treated like "Nuisance Feral"! Since Renovations are to be In - Mgr. wants me OUT! |
Unfair Mgr.of complex has decided to "give us" SIX DAYS to vacate, "or else"! The "next step" in "the office's" harassment of me happened when a man who was setting "humane traps",for the feral cats lounging on my Patio - no 24 hour notice! I awoke when noise was made when he set one in between the two air conditioning units a few feet away from where I slept! She had allowed me to care for them for over a year before reniging on her support. Nothing was out of place when she came to make "spot checks" on my apartment, checks she never made on anyone else. Six others, dif reasons got same letters of Threat, and each occupies an apartment designated for 鈥渦pgrade鈥?and with that 鈥渦pgrade鈥?would come MORE MONEY from the New Renter whereas the office would have to 鈥済randfather鈥?us in! I'm not the only one she's sent this type of "Threat of Eviction" letter to - There are at least six others who are now facing this same situation, even though the lease we've signed states clearly 60 DAYS! To worry wort - yep - sounds whacked to me too - To everyone else, the office has sent "men" around to "watch" my patio - a "feral" cat is one that isn't necessarily "tame" or lives in a home. They're not exactly "atrays" because they never "ran away" from "home" - they were cruelly DUMPED while their original owners went on to "a new address" without them, (rather than pay a hefty pet deposit! And, once they move in to the "new place" they "sneak" a "new kittie" in to That apartment!) you need to find out what your rights are,,i live in north carolina and you have to give someone 90 days to leave, you can always try to either call legal aid in your area to get advice or call a lawyer, some give one free phone consultation.dont take this laying down, good luck Call your local news station and have them look into it. Believe it or not, they love to get their hands dirty in stuff like that, trust me!!! My mom and dad had a similar incident happen to them and they got put on the news. Less then an hour later they got a call from the landlord apologizing for the behavior and have even cut their rent in half. If the lease says 60-days then 60-days it is. Are there any conditions where the landlord can break the lease? There almost always is. Did you do anything that was in violation of the lease? That may be an out for your landlord. Read it and you will know. Often, the cats are not feral but appear to be. They are so scared and need safety and security. Keep putting food and water. The cats will take at least a week to gain trust. Food will be the thing that allows you to get the cat in a crate....tuna is good. The animal control officer will also do this for you. They usually bring them to the humane society. I found a cat like this and on top of everything, she had 4 babies shortly after I provided her with care and security. |
