How can I get my husband to tell his brother to get a job and move out, without my husband getting mad at me?

My husbands brother came to stay with us because he told my husband he has no place to stay. So my husband said okay, but no cats! He has two cats. He finally got rid of one, after it attacked him several times, the last time pretty viciously. So now he is still here with one cat. We are living like this in an apartment complex where there are animals allowed, but only if we pay pet deposit and so much extra a month. If managment finds out we will get evicted for breaking our lease. No, we cannot pay extra for his cats!
He has been here around 2 months. He finally got a job about 3 weeks ago. But his truck had expired tags on it and our apt. office put a tow sticker on it. So he drove it out of the city somewhere, so it wouldn't be towed. Supposedly, until he gets enough money to license it. Except, since he moved his truck away from here, he quit that job!
When I try to talk to my husband about his brother getting a job, my husband just bulls up and gets mad at me!!

I need some really good advice to get my husband to just wake up to his brother's stupidity, and laziness. Please help me, because I have been about ready to leave them both!!!!!

You need to talk to your husband alone. Express your concerns to your husband and that you need him to hear you out about how this is affecting you and your marriage. You do not need to risk losing your apartment over his brothers cat. He needs to set a limit of time that he can stay that is agreeable to both of you. His brother needs to be actively looking every day for a job and should not be allowed to stay if he is not trying to find a job. Good luck in your situation. I pray all works out well for all of you.

tough situation. i'd let the cat out. act like it "ran away". cats are resilient. it will be ok. he can't take care of himself much less a cat anyway. cats are nasty and they make your house stink even though you may not know it.

lay down some ground rules with your husband. give the bro like exactly one month more to get things together to be out.

you are at risk of getting kicked out anyway since most likely your apt. isn't meant for that many adults -- or is it? that could be another fact to motivate your husband.

honestly, if your husband and you can't come to an agreement on this (i know the bro is HIS family, but it could damage your marriage) then you may want to rethink your relationship with your husband. i suggest counseling but most men don't even want to hear it. good luck on this.

You need to sit them both down and try to converse---be firm and let them both know you are not happy with this arrangement-------------if he doesn't want to listen tell him you are thinking of leaving.------good luck

I actually had this happen once. You have to wait it out, until your husband gets tired of the situation. Your hurting you marriage here. A normal guy ain't gonna want this. But honestly if you give up, I bet you understand the situation better soon, The problem is your husband not his bro. Try asking a sister or mother or another bro of your husbands, cause they understand something is my guess that your not getting here! Anyway be a good christian wife and suck it up if you can, maybe move in your bro.

Leave and dont go back til he moves out.
