Should i shop around for somewhere cheaper?

i called a vet office and they told me it would cost about $90 for three shots bortatella,distemper,parvo and rabies plues they said they would have to do an exam to make sure he can have these,im not sure but it sounds outrageous in price,should i shop around??are theyre other places out there that are lease expensive.i mean im on state disability and for me that is alot!tell me what yall think

I thnk that's an outrageous price, so do call and check around. Our local Petco has low cost shot events on the 2nd Sat of the month. So check your local Petco to see if they have this service too :) Best of luck to you and your baby :)

then go to the local humane society. many times they have low cost veterinary services (call around or look online) for less than half of that price. good luck

i know in cali there are a few places a lot cheaper...and sometimes the human sociaty has days were its hceaper to get that stuff done...so i say look around

who cares about the money here... the dog's health is what matters.

Usually a lot of parks have clinics on the weekends with cheap shots. Try contacting a local shelter or your humane society and ask when the next park clinic is happening

Since price is an issue, call the local humane society and your local animal shelter for assistance. See if they have suggestions as to *clinics* coming soon. However, having a vet examine your dog is key to picking up signs that something may be going on that you are unaware of currently. Part of the fee for the shots quoted above is FOR that exam where the veterinarian will do a full body exam checking heart, lungs, ears, teeth, eyes, stomach sounds. If he is a really good vet, he will ask about your dog's activity levels/any changes you may have noticed, check his joints for free moving and full range of motion. If you are only doing yearly shots, it is wise to get an exam just as we get an exam for ourselves - preventative health maintenance.

Yeah. That is pretty high, just call some other clinics and see what prices they have.
