Living and working in Canada for a summer?

My friend and I decided it would be a fun experience to live and work in canada for the summer. We are both american citizens with passports. My friends in canada have found a few places that offer month to month leases we could live at.

My question is what else should i be doing? I know we would need work visas of some kind. I checked the Canadian Immigration website, and its somewhat vague.

As far as rental, would i be able to do this kind of stuff via email, phone and fax rather than in person?

Has anyone ever done this type of thing? Also i live in colorado, no where near any of the immigration offices.

Any help is really appreciated.

Forget it.
Canada is extremely protectionist.

If you want to do this for a summer, check out someplace like Banff, Niagara Falls or other tourist locations that need a lot of summer help. They might have special short term work visa arrangements. They might even have on-site dorms so you could dispense with rental worries. No regular company is going to bother with a work visa for a few months.

You can certainly live in Canada for a few months - it's the earning money that is a problem. I would guess that anyone who rents month to month probably would be willing to do it by fax.

is sucks do not trust the Canadian they are lies is so expensive here www.notcanada.com

You'll probably find it hard to find something outside of an internship for credit at an American school. Canada has really strict immigration policies. Really, the only country I know that has stricter ones is the US.
