In my open office document, I'm using the excel program, or whatever its called, and My assignment asks me to

decrease the decimals by two spaces in column b. ie: 73,208.00 when i take the decimals off, it takes away the $ and the comma. What to do? Thanks. Also, how do I place a columnar chart below the chart I have created. Very confusing. What is a columnar chart in open office language?

Open Office is very similar to Excel. You should be able to click format/cells/number and tell it how many characters after the decimal you want then click OK. If you want to see the $ sign then choose to format as currency instead of number.
The question about the chart is confusing. I think you mean a bar chart instead of columnar. If so, just highlight the cells that you want to chart and choose whatever Open Office uses to create this chart. Excel calls it Chart Wizard. Use your Help menu choice and search for either "create chart" or "create graph" and it should tell you how to do it.
