How long should i work in a sealed building without.......? |
How long should i work in a sealed office building without the air-recirculation system working. it is an open plan office space with 34 workstations in it! The biggest issue is related to how many people are in the same space with you. If too many people occupy the same space, CO2 levels associated with people breathing can elevate and deplete oxygen levels. It typically takes a high occupancy load for this to become problematic and depends on the room size. If the space has a low occupancy, then the real issue is heat load from the computers. People tend to get uncomfortable over 78 degrees. Anyway, you are likely fine if the room temperature is reasonable and the number of people in the space are limited. If you are uncomfortable, you should report the problem and consider leaving the space. Typically shut downs don't last more than a few hours and are reasonable for occupancy as long as temperature is maintained. that's not fair get your manager to do something about it! I would guess (and it is a guess) that you'd be ok for a few hours. |
