$ 1,406 dollars thats how much i am paying for it

You can put together an equivalent system outside for less than 1400... You just don't get the cool AlienWare chassis extras. If you go with someone like IBuyPower or whoever for equivalent system I'd say it should be like $1200.

Tried it with ibuypower.com, same config (as close as I can make it, almost same MB, etc.) got $1202.

I have an alienware myself and love it.

Your only weak point in this system is the RAM. 2GB is bare minimum for most games now. Windows XP is a good choice (Vista sucks) but I would upgrade to 4 GB of ram when you save up enough dough for it.

XP cannot detect more then 4GB of ram, but that's fine because for the next few years that's all you'll need.

Every thing is fine but why the CPU is not 3.0 Ghz ???!!, because the system requirement(for processor) is increasing day by day.

heck yeah

hi yes and no i think at that price you should atlest be getting quad core otherthan that quite good and 2Gb of ramm beare minimum i disagree using vista as an example at the most recend microsoft os uless you are using a 64 os the most you can have is 4Gb most motherboards will only support upto 8Gb of ramm any way but if you must get if you want to save money and have better parts than get it built by a freind or Msy build computers for only $40 and i have accese to many wholesalers but still purchace from them as they are cheaper than most wholesalers as they are larger www.msy.com.au

by the way processor i am using the q6600 quad core @2.44 GHz easily clocks at 3.2 GHz with out much temperature increase also go for an asus motherboard once you do you will never go back www.asus.com.au
