What's the most boneheaded thing you've ever done? |
I've done some pretty dumb things in my life but last month I outdid myself. Long story short, the parking clearance for the dentist office was 7 feet and my van is slightly higher than that. I didn't even see the sign because it kinda blended in with the building. So im going along when I hear this loud scraping sound and realize what I've done. That wasn't bad enough but now I had to turn this big van completely around and didn't have much space to do so but after a bunch of forward-reverse-forward-reverse i got it back out, re-scraping the roof. I was fortunate that (A) there was no damage to the building except for a couple of splinters on the pillar I went under and (B) that the roof of my van is fiberglass and has some give to it. If I'd have had a luggage rack or something solid up there it would have been torn off. I felt so stupid but the dentist was really nice and even told me he'd seen people smack into that same pillar before causing the building to shake. I chose the wrong woman to marry. The good one got away Well when I was 14yo I "parked" a hangglider in a tree. I didn't have a clew what I was doing, I just ran along with the thing and the wind picked me up....and put me down. |
