Why did Office Space bomb at the Box Office? |
Was it the awful trailer? The lack of star power? Something else? Possibly my favorite comedy, and I have been wondering about this for years! I think it is because on in theory, it doesn't sound that unique or as funny as it really is. When you see a minute long preview or the movie, all you see is "another movie about buisiness people that are funny." There have been countless movies with a similar premise, and I think a lot of people didn't want to drop there money on something cliched. Once it got to DVD/video however, it was much easier for people to see, and so more people could discover just how funny and unique it is. who knows...but it blew up on dvd etc. and its one of the best movies ever....so maybe it was all for the best. Good question, because that is one of the greatest films ever made! (next to super troopers) it was one of those underground movies that takes off after its released onto video. I'm not sure but it's become a cult classic. One of my favorite movies! If I had to guess I would say lack of star power? I think it was because that style of humor was not a popular one at the time. It is a very dry comedy, and the movie was a somewhat unknown movie also. The only reason it has picked up in popularity is because it has become a cult classic. One person saw it showed it to another person sort of thing. It spread and now everyone just loves it. It did? woah! I thout everyone loved that movie Good question. I think it shows how many many people feel everyday. My husband can't stand to watch it because he is an IT guy for a bank and he says it is like watchig an autobiography. Him and his coworkers quote it all the time. It has all the makings of a cult classic. i have no idea it is one of my favs um....yeah....im gonna have to go ahead and say that its because back then people didnt wear 15 pieces of flair. |
