Why would my wife's new office have a fold-out couch?

My wife was promoted in the past year to a large office at her law firm and her new furniture came in recently. She regularly puts in 12-hour days as an attorney, sometimes longer. She's also quoted in the local newspaper a lot (which makes me jealous of late, as I haven't been in the papers in awhile!).

Part of her new decor includes a new-age looking sofa, that sort of folds out halfway for extra room. My wife said that she needs it for power naps, and, as a buxom woman, she does like her space (I'm considering separate beds, she moves around so much), and I take her for her word. We've been together since a young age and have been very loyal to each other. She probably chose that sofa because it's cool looking and very expensive (not our dime). Her private bath is also nice.

In any case, while she does work 20 minutes away, shouldn't she take naps at home? This whole idea of power-napping seems strange to me, as I'm an artist with no set hours. Do any of your spouses do this?

Well, that's why she's the boss! lol!

I worked in a corporate office seven years ago and my boss had his office set up like an apartment. Full bed, full bath, fridge, etc. He had already established the company and spent most of his time hitting on us girls...getting one here and there. Picture a 60 year old overweight uncouth man hitting on pretty, dressed smartly, not interested in him for even a second, girls. It was sad. Anyway, I doubt your wife has a pullout couch in her office for the same reasons he did.

If you add up the time for her to travel 20 minutes one way, 20 back, 10 for good measure, there is an entire hour lost. I have had 2 hours of sleep today and would have napped on the floor if I could have gotten away with it.

I have been following your story and the more you question your wife's motives, the more I question yours. It seems to me that you might be looking for a reason to behave inappropriately. I am not one to judge, but game playing is so uncool and would cause me to develop lack of respect for you. At this point I will continue to give you the benefit of the doubt.

It's called a promotion couch!

Did you ever hear of trust?

hey Reality i would keep letting her do that. Don't worry about her"powernaps". Just keep taking it easy with Krysta and enjoy what u got.

if you have no set hours then you would not know how important that power nap is...

i think everyone should have a pull out couch to take naps.. i need one right now... and i only work 8 hour days...

I wish I had a fold out couch in my office..

Why ask here? My thoughts on a bed at a office should not sway you in either direction......
I can only think of one reason for a hide-a-bed at an office....and napping is not it

Many people take the power naps during the work day. It is beneficial to ones health to take them. I am sure the couch is exactly for that! You should be proud that she is successful. As an artist I am sure that you work when inspired and sleep when you are tired. Your inspiration comes to you and you need to act on it. She has to be at her job certain hours ...more structured. I think you both have a great life! Enjoy!

You sound like a namby pamby fellow looking to cause problems because youre jealous of your wifes job/lifestyle. Grow up and move on to real problems. If you dont like it tell her, not us. BTW...if any of our spouses did this wed have enough money/time to enjoy life and not be answering stupid questions on a computer.

Maybe she gets daily stress relief massages with happy endings, I'm jealous to.

I think this is more of jealousy on your part! I think you two need more "US" time!

so she can bang the jury to win the case
