Would you complain about someone at work to get ahead?

Is it bad manners to try to get ahead by complaining about someone at work. I can not understand why so many people in my office are always spending so much energy trying to get the best of someone and making them look bad. I see many people who share an office not speaking to each other because they have both gone to the boss to try to get the other person fired. I could not image how stressful it must be to have to deal with the pain and frustration of sharing a work space with someone every day who you are fighting with.

Tell us about manners and workplace competition?

When people try to draw attention to others about co-workers they are trying to hide something about themselves. The best way to handle any problem at work is to do your job and then the boss will see you and also see the truth about the other people.Become like water, take the least path of resistance and overcome by creating your own path to follow and let them learn to follow you into success.

no

You would complain to get ahead? Think about it, would you really be getting ahead or would you be setting yourself up to lose your job because someone complained about you? Office etiquette is unless that persons performance directly affects your, you keep your mouth shut. This is the workplace not high school

No, not to get ahead. I f they are doing something wrong, that might be bad for the company, or for others that work there, then yes I would complain.
